We have moved (bees and all) to the Scottish Highlands. A beautiful house in Stratherrick on the south east side of Loch Ness.
There are a few other beekeepers in the area and there even used to be some hives at the house. So, hopefully, the bees will be happy despite the change in scenery and weather.
Moving 5 hives full of bees 250 miles proved not as difficult as feared. They were loaded at dusk on to a trailer, strapped down and then driven north overnight. We arrived just after a glorious sunrise, unloaded them. Once the entrance was unblocked, out they came and set to reorientating to their new surroundings.
